The Power of Vision

Awhile back, I went horseback riding and the instructor told me that the horse will eventually go the direction the rider is constantly looking.  I believe that principle applies to our lives as well. What we constantly see Рthe images/thoughts of victory or defeat, success or failure, plenty or lack, prosperity or poverty Рwill eventually bring us to that reality.

Our thoughts are the bridles for our lives that steer us in the direction we wish to go.

Genesis 13:14-15 says: “And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: “Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are—northward, southward, eastward, and westward; for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever.”

The first thing I see in this Scripture is that God tells Abraham ‚ÄúLift your eyes now and look…‚Äù If you want to break out of the cycle you‚Äôve found yourself in, you must lift your eyes and look beyond your current situation into what you can have in your life.¬† What you see, what you behold in your mind, is what will eventually be realized in your life.¬† Now, I am not talking about physical sight, but our spiritual eyes – it‚Äôs the kind of images you behold in your mind, the thoughts that dominate your mind.¬† If all you have on your mind is worry, fear – ‚ÄúHow am going to make it until my next paycheck? How am I going to survive this?‚Äù – the constant stress of ‚Äúwhat if,‚Äù and you are always looking into your current situation, then you will never come out of it.¬† You have to start looking beyond – into what God has for you, what you desire in life – because God says that those who delight in him will be given the desires of their hearts. (Psalm 37:4)

Find out from God’s Word what you can have and how He desires to bless you. Embrace it, make it yours, constantly think about it. Create positive and proper images in your mind about your finances, business, career and your life.

In Genesis 13:15, God told Abraham, ‘What you see I will give to you.’ He said it with absolute certainty, no “buts” or “ifs.”

God is saying if you embrace His promises and behold the images He is giving you now Рif you can believe it, then it’s yours. The only way to please God is through our faith (Hebrews 11:6). Faith is simply confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, according to Hebrew 11:1.  In other words, it is to see what we desire clearly and knowing with confidence that it will happen.

God works through thoughts and images in our mind.

They become the construction material for God to build a future that we desire.  Make sure that you supply Him with that material every day.  Everyday stand on the promises of God for your finances, career, business, and life.  Trust that He desires for you to do well in life and He wants you to prosper and be blessed.
