Week 3 Recap: Holy Spirit and Gifts

October 14, 2019 to October 18, 2019

This week interns dove right into the topic of Holy Spirit and establishing a relationship with Him. Interns learned about how He is a person and not a distant symbol. They were also equipped with supplementary reading from Benny Hinn’s book, “Good Morning, Holy Spirit”. Throughout the week, they learned about Holy Spirit’s heart, character, and mind in order to form an intimate relationship with Him. Interns also learned about the gifts Holy Spirit has and equips them with such as speaking in tongues, healing, prophecy, discernment of spirits, etc.

What have you learned from this week? The Holy Spirit is a person. He has feelings just like us. Talk to him, invite him to read with you, and ask him to help you pray. It grieves the Holy Spirit when you ignore him.

Any advice for people interested in the HungryGen Internship? Before you start to try to impact the world, you need to get grounded and know the fundamentals of the Bible. Being involved in a church and attending internships, like this one, is a must. It really helps with knowing where you stand in Christ, along with stepping into your authority that Christ gave you, and the basic foundations of the Bible.

Favorite part about internship: Is that it teaches you life skills as well. I love that you get to learn how to improve your finances, communication, public speaking, time management, involvement in the community, cleaning, and cooking at the “Casa de Men of God” ( the guys house here at internship ) !

Favorite Bible Verse: Philippians 4:13

Fun Fact: I was born in Ukraine and moved to the United States at the age of five. Also I am a huge sports fan and love my boy Lebron James!

What have you learned from this week?
To have a relationship with God is not as hard as we make it out to be. Just as you would take time out of the day for a friend, the same thing is applied with the Holy Spirit. Be intimate with him and as you pour your heart out to him, He will pour out his heart to you. After all he is a person.

Any advice for people interested in the Hungrygen internship? Also, throughout internship, keep in mind why you’re going, and don’t lose sight of that. There are going to be a lot of opportunities and distractions but as long as you stay focused, you will get what you want out of this season. Lastly, be open to change because you will never know the connections you’ll make and the wisdom you will gain from other interns.

Favorite part about internship: It is very manageable and compatible with people with busy lives. HungryGen Internship is the perfect length (3 months) for young adults to take a small break in life before they head out into their callings. It is also less expensive than other alternatives.

Favorite Bible Verse: Matthew 26:36-46
